Everything about Product Variant Images, screen by screen. Button names are exactly as they appear in the app.

Getting started: the 3-step guide

The first time you open the app, the guide appears. Tap Get started. Nothing changes in your store until the last step, and you can leave with Continue later and pick it up later from Home.

  1. Pick a product. The app suggests the product with the most colors and photos. Use this product or Choose another to search by name.
  2. Check the photos. Tap each color under “What your shoppers will see”. If it looks right, Looks good; if not, Fix some photos and choose each photo's color.
  3. Add the gallery. Open the editor: the theme editor opens on the product template with the “Variant gallery” block already added. Tap Save in the top right corner and go back to the app: it checks your store by itself.

The product editor

At the top, “What your shoppers will see”: tap a color to see the photos your store will show, in order, and View in store.

  1. Tap photos to select them (one or many).
  2. Under “Show in:”, tap the colors where they belong. A color with ✓ is already set; tap it again to remove it. Or: In all colors or Don't show.
  3. Tap Done: the selection closes and tells you where the photos went. Move on to the next color's photos.
  4. When you finish, Save. While there are unsaved changes, Shopify shows its bar at the top with Save and Discard.

Plans

Plans shows your plan, how many products you've used and what each plan includes. Change plan opens Shopify's plan page: you choose, Shopify bills you on your invoice, and back in the app the new plan shows.

You choose and pay in Shopify, on your usual bill. If you move to a smaller plan, the products you already set up keep working.

Troubleshooting

My store still shows all the photos
Check in Settings that the gallery is in your theme. In the theme editor, the “Variant gallery” block has to be inside the product section (Product information), not in a separate “Apps” section: from there it can't replace the theme's gallery. Save and tap “Check again”.
A color only shows the photos for all colors
That color doesn't have its own photos yet. Home flags it as “colors without photos”. Open the product, choose its photos and save.
I added photos and they don't show
New photos follow the rule in Settings → Advanced options. If you chose not to show them until you pick their color, open them in the editor and assign them.
I changed themes
Add the gallery to the new theme: Settings takes you to the editor with the block already in place.
The suggestion gets it wrong
It works best when each color variant has one of its photos assigned in Shopify, or when the color is in the file name or alt text. With one clue per color, it fills in the rest from the color and order of the photos.
My theme isn't compatible
The app tells you and saves your theme's details for us to adapt it. Meanwhile, your store shows your photos as usual.

Uninstalling and your data

The gallery disappears from your store and your theme shows its usual photos again. Your setup is kept for 30 days in case you reinstall, and then it's deleted.

No. Your photos stay as they are in Shopify. The app only decides which ones the gallery shows for each color.
